Q: I swear that the product has worked immediately after the injection, are you sure it will take 5-7 days to take effect?
A: I have had a handful of clients reporting that the product worked instantly. This is most likely due to the temporary "volume or expansion effect" of the product when it is placed within the muscle layer. This will subside after the product is absorbed by the muscles. You will notice that the swelling will reduce over 10 - 15 minutes. Please note that it is advisable not to lie down horizontally within the first 4 hours after the treatment.
Q: Why can't I lie down within the first 4 hours of treatment?
A: This is to prevent gradient diffusion of the products to other muscle groups. If this happens, it may cause drooping of the upper eye lid. We want the product to stay exactly where this is placed. This is why injections should be given slowly and steadily. Do not attempt to rub or massage the product other than that offered by your doctor.
Q: Why do I get a headache after the treatment?
A: Not everyone gets a headache after the treatment. However, for the unlucky few, this usually starts within 72 hours of treatment and lasting about a day or two. Some may experience a mild form of twitching of the eyebrows. This is due to the fact that the muscles using up the remaining acetylcholine, of which, aids in muscular contractions. The product binds to these receptors and therefore blocking the action of these muscles temporarily. You will find that simply taking paracetamol will alleviate these symptoms.
Q: I have had a jaw enhancement treatment performed 1 week ago, I still haven't noticed any difference yet, is this normal?
A: Jaw enhancement is performed with injections carefully placed along the jaw line and along the powerful neck platysma muscles. The effects are subtle but long lasting if it is maintained every 3 months. This is one of the best preventative treatment for jowls and saggy jaw line. You will need two treatments of four weeks apart initially and a maintenance dose three monthly. Please be patient, as we are trying to soften the effects of the downward drawing muscles and allowing your natural cheek muscles to maintain its strength. This will lead to a more defined jaw line. Hence, the treatment is also known as Nefertiti lift.
Q: So, I am going to have 15 units, does it mean I am going to get 15 injections?
A: Certainly not! Injections are measured in units but the number of injections are depended on the volume given at each site.
For example:
Frown area - usually about 3 injection sites. For 15 units, you will receive 5 units at each area. That is equivalent to 0.1 ml at each site.
Other words, imagine you have to take 15 ml of medicine. You can either swallow the whole thing at once or swallow over 3 mouthfuls with smaller volume at each time.
Q: Is there anything I need to do or not do after the treatment?
A: YES.
PLEASE DO:
1) exercise these muscles as frequently as possible within the first 24 hours. This promotes the uptake of the product by the muscles.
2) wash your face as usual and gently.
3) apply ice around the area for comfort as required.
4) take paracetamol (1g) should you develop headaches.

PLEASE DON'T:
1) lie down for 4 hours after treatment
2) perform intensive exercises for 24 hours after treatment (gym, heat yoga, spa or sauna)
