Dr Louisa completed her Bachelor in Medicine and Surgery in 2002.  She later completed the Diploma in Obstetrics with The Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG)  and she is a Fellow of The Royal Australian College of General Practitioner (FRACGP).

She has worked in various places in Victoria and developed a range of special interests and skills.  She later completed a Certificate of Primary Skin Cancer Medicine with The University of Queensland and Certificate IV in Relaxation Massage Therapy with MIMT, Heidelberg.  She has also completed the Certificate of Aesthetic Medicine offered by the renowned American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine.

Her interest in aesthetic medicine began whilst completing her certificate in skin cancer medicine and massage therapy.  In 2005, she spent six months in a general practice where she was under the supervision of Dr Dennis McCurdy (Anti-aging associates, Canterbury).

In keeping up to date with new advances in medical science and aesthetic technology, Dr Louisa attends numerous conferences and workshops across Australia.  She is affiliated with anti-aging Canterbury.  She is a full member of the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine (AAAM), Australian Society of Cosmetic Medicine (ASCM) and AustralAsian Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A5M).

She has a passion and special interest in aesthetic medicine especially with wrinkle relaxant injections, soft tissue fillers and mesotherapy.  Dr Louisa only performs treatments such as Lasers and radio-frequencies at Dandenong Surgery.

She has written an article on needle phobia "Belonephobia - a fear of needles" which is published in the Australian Family Physicians in November 2006.  This article is clinically relevant in both general practice and aesthetic medicine.

Outside of medicine, she enjoys writing inspirational articles for local church magazines and doing volunteering work.  In February 2009, Dr Louisa volunteered her medical services to the bushfire affected areas of Kinglake and Whittlesea.  She shared this experience with the local newspaper and encouraged others to do the same.

Her other interests include speaking about student health, in particular, international students health.  She spoke to an audience at the Cultural and Health Diversity conference June 7-9 2010.  Her abstract gives an insight to what happens, on a day to day basis, at the Swinburne University of Technology Health service.  Her abstract, titled "Challenges we face, experiences they encounter", can be found HERE

She works as a General Practitioner on Mondays at Swinburne University Health Service located on Wakefield Street in Hawthorn, Melbourne, Victoria.  She specializes in women's health, sexual health, obstetric antenatal care, skin cancer medicine and massage therapy in general practice.  One of her famous quote for health promotion is:

"An apple a day, keeps the docs away;
A condom a dame, keeps the bugs at bay."

She has recently published an article on "Feeling your patient's pain" in the Australian Medical Observer 10th June 2011 (page 31).  This article is based on a memorable real case in her clinical general practice.

This year, Dr Louisa will be speaking at the Student Health and Welfare conference in March 2012 at Novotel Collins Street in Melbourne.

Later in May, she has also been invited to be part of the speaker panel at the annual conference of Australian Association of Massage Therapists.
