What is Mesotherapy?
Mesotherapy means treatment of the skin layer by direct introduction of herbal extracts, vitamins and anti-aging products with tiny little injections. With the use of extremely fine needles (similar to the those insulin used by patients for treatment of diabetes), anti-aging products can be injected into the skin layer.
This method is deemed more effective than topical form of anti-aging products, such as creams and lotions, because the products are directly delivered to the areas of interest. It bypasses the skin absorption step, of which, can be affected by a client's age, metabolism and the thickness of the skin. This form of treatment is ideal for body contour or sculpture, re-hydration and rejuvenation of the skin.
Combined with wrinkle relaxants, lasers, IPL, peels and soft tissue fillers, this method may lengthen the duration and effects of existing cosmetic treatments. In addition to a good healthy diet and regular exercises, mesotherapy offers faster regeneration of cells, increase cell turnover and promote new healthy tissues.
Lipodissolve or Lipolysis is a type of mesotherapy where medication is directly introduced to pockets of "stubborn" fatty tissue. This is great for the management for those resistant cellulite regions such as under the chin, outer hips and the "love handles".
Dr Louisa offers
- lipolysis for resistant fatty tissue (neck, lover's handle, saddle areas)
- rejuvenation (face, neck and decollette areas)
- re-hydration of the skin
Injectable lipolysis requires
injection of medicine into resistant areas of cellulite. This
treatment is by no means a weight loss treatment. In fact, it ONLY works
best for clients with a normal body mass index but having cellulite areas
that are resistant to good diet and exercise.
Body mass index (BMI) is calculated by a formula using your weight in kilograms and height in metres.
Normal and Healthy BMI ranges 20 - 25
Please note that you must allow 10 to 14 days of down time after treatment as mesotherapy promotes inflammation and swelling of the treated areas. You may need to take time off work or alternatively arrange to have this treatment performed during winter or holidays.
Dr Louisa will not perform this treatment to her clients during the first consultation, she will discuss with you whether this is the best treatment for you.
