Polish

It appears that both titanium and zinc will oxidize in the skin and create inflammation above and beyond the sun exposure unless the particles are coated with silica (like Osmosis). Research suggests that there may be toxicity associated with micronized and specifically nano-sized titanium and zinc as their penetration into the blood is possible, but Osmosis believes that the silica coating makes the particles inert and therefore inactive/non-toxic in the serum (if any should reach that far). Micronized zinc reflects light significantly better and has a broader UV protection spectrum than any form of titanium. Lastly, Shelter is truly a moisturizer as well as having some of the most active antioxidants in the skin!

It is designed as the introductory product because it is more calming and less stimulating than Calm. What makes these products unique is that they are calming, they repair the barrier (often damaged in rosacea), they rebuild the dermis (which thins faster in rosacea sufferers) and they reduce visible capillaries (retinaldehyde is the only non-prescription, proven treatment for rosacea).

Aging Skin Serum Concentrate
Since the entire line of Osmosis products uses "more", Boost might be best classified as “the most”. This serum concentrate has double of most of the active ingredients found in Renew. For many people this serum will cause significant exfoliation if not used in moderation. It is quite common for treatments of skin discoloration to have traumatizing ingredients. Logically, knowing that trauma (inflammation) is a leading cause of pigmentation, it makes no sense to use ingredients like Hydroquinone that stimulate pigment (through inflammation) while attempting to lighten it. Ingredients like Arbutin show promise initially, but quickly oxidize in a solution making them much less effective. Additionally, because the skin wants to produce pigment to protect itself, it has shown a great ability to work around the (tyrosinase inhibiting) effects of many lighteners.
