Oh no!!

Vitamin A creams no longer on the market!

Vitamin A stimulates collagen production from the fibroblast cells.  This is recommended for night-time use for matured skin.  Unfortunately, the pharmaceutical companies no longer make medical grade vitamin A creams or gels.  Therefore, a lot of my patients and clients are currently in panic mode!

DON'T WORRY!

Thankfully, we are able to provide compounded medication from our trustworthy local pharmacy in Melbourne - Pickford Pharmacy.  This pharmacy is able to produce good quality prescription compounded vitamin A cream.

Our pharmacist, Mr Tam Nguyen, is a fully qualified local pharmacist with many years of experience.  We are able to provide a better formulation than the standard vitamin A.  We use a combination of Vitamin A and de-pigmentation compound to help in stimulation of collagen cells and suppression of pigmentation, of which, are commonly seen in mature skin.  These products are fragrance free.

We are also introducing this formulation in a solution form, of which, is better tolerated and easier to apply without leaving that "sticky" feeling on your face.  If you are interested and would like to get more information, please email Dr Louisa or speak to her in person at your next visit.  Dr Louisa currently stocks a small supply at the clinic and might be able to help you during the consultation.

Please note:

  1. This is a prescription-based medication.
  2. Full consent, documentation and prescription will be attached to your file.
  3. This is a scheduled 4 (S4) medication, therefore, we are unable to discount the cost of this medication.
  4. The prices are very affordable, you might even find that it is cheaper than commercial ones.
  5. It is recommended that you wear sun block during daytime to reduce skin damage from UVA and UVB.  Using Vitamin A products will make your skin more sensitive to UV rays.
