We have finally got the solution for you!
Introducing Fractional Radio-frequency, our new machine will be your best friend.
This technology is different to all its predecessors with excellent effectiveness, more client comfort and better clinical results. This is ideal for:

Fractional Radio-frequency (RF) delivers bi-polar heat energy (up to 45 Deg C) to the skin by a tip built of an array of small pins and return electrodes to create microscopic thermal zones (MTZ). It delivers fractional thermal into the deep dermis and create potential healing effects in the MTZ. Undamaged tissue between the electrode pins act as a healing server to accelerate the collagen rebuilding and skin tissue remodelling.
Unlike the traditional laser therapy, the majority of the fractional RF energy is focused in the dermis whilst only a small percentage of the surface is effected, resulting in deep volumetric dermal heating and ultimate result. On the contrary, laser stays large volume on the surface, while only a small amount of energy penetrates deep into the dermis.
For your safety and comfort, the tips of the hand piece are disposable. The tips are suitable for both face and body treatments. Disposable tip for individual clients to avoid cross contamination and infection.
Recovery time is usually 1-3 days and during this time, mineral makeup provides excellent coverage for redness. Comfort level is excellent and the addition of numbing cream can be applied to the treatment area 10 minutes prior to treatment.
I must admit, it was rather an unusual feeling to be on the receiving end. I found myself going under the “knife” again this year. In the past 36 years of my life, I have been in and out of hospital as a patient about six times, not counting the very first time when I was in my birthday suit. Compared to a lot of my patients, six – is a young number.
On the day itself, I was a bit nervous. The last general anaesthetic I had was almost 15 years ago when I was a medical student. I went through the emergency department for acute appendicitis at the local public hospital. I still remembered it very well as I was quite traumatised due to a few post operative complications.
I had severe nausea, vomiting and urine retention due to the medications. The later problem led to being catheterised by a nurse, of whom, had never put a catheter in anyone’s bladder previously. At 3 o’clock in the morning, I had an audience of three looking up my V. Each of them goggled, gowned and gloved. One holding “THE” catheter and the others camped at the end of the bed with torches in their hands, putting a shine to the problem! It took a very long time for trial and error. Between the exploding bladder pain and the dying embarrassment of one’s neglect to completely close the curtains whilst I was being “catheterised”, it was really TOO much for me. “Someone please shoot me now!” I said repeatedly in my mind.
I can relate to people why they hate hospitals. Well, after all, it was a public teaching hospital. Someone had to learn right? Looking back, perhaps going through a private hospital might have been better. However, if this horrible and unfortunate experience did not occur, I probably would not be able to relate to my patients, empathise with them and providing them with the “prep-talk” before their procedures.
Once you have experienced the worst, you tend to have a new found appreciation when things do go well. Unfortunate events happen for reasons that we might not understand now. Sooner or later, they do become crystal clear.
So, once again, the few days leading up to the elective operation, I found myself writing down endless lists of numbers, passwords and reminders. Strangely enough, I was also tidying up loose ends both within the business and household. I found myself saying, emailing and texting more “hellos”, “goodbyes” and “thank-yous” the day leading up to the operation. Thankfully, it was also Valentine’s Day, so, it didn’t come across as too overwhelming for everyone involved!
There must be an explanation to this sudden change in behaviour, an urge of showing gratitude and appreciation. Self-preparation? Maybe, preparing others, in the event of the impending doom. So, how often are we prepared for the unprepared? How soon do we expect the unexpected?
Note to self, appreciate all things in life. Be grateful and thankful to all the people and pets around you.
On a lighter note, I survived to write this blog! I went through the Epworth this time and the staff were absolutely wonderful. I do have to go back for more procedures next month, that will be another life journey to share.
A big thank you to the Total Bliss Team (Jasmine, Kahlia, Tracey, Susan, Sammy-Jo, Natasha and Melanie). A special thank you to my manager, Katelyn! She is an awesome woman.
Until next time! Please take care,
Yes. It is the time of the year again! Let’s admit it, you cannot escape it. Where ever you go, cupids, arrows and heart-shaped objects are displayed openly and affectionately in every corner of windows, doors and handles.
For some, it is just another day of the year. Some, will wonder what life would be if that special person or pet was still around. Some, will ponder if that super special moment will finally come with someone holding the bling and proposing that ultimate question.
Nonetheless, it is a day for reflection. A day to remember what it is liked to feel loved, to be loved and being able to love. Love does not come easy. Neither does love come freely nor accepted unconditionally. I have been reading a book written by a well known psychologist, Stephen Covey, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Stephen describes love is not the same as passion. Love is not a feeling. Love is an action. My understanding to his wisdom on love is quite simple.
To really love, is to listen, to be patient, to compromise, to understand, to follow, to lead, to appreciate, to spend time with, to laugh and cry with, to be upset at, to forgive, to resolve conflicts, to communicate, to plan, to motivate, to have a dream with and to inspire. When all these elements are fulfilled, LOVE will follow.
So, in the spirit of Valentine’s day, let’s spread our wings to take a flight where we might not have taken before, to really LOVE somebody around you.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Aloha! Welcome to a new exciting year of 2013. This year, I hope to publish more health related blogs and updates in this industry.
January takes me to a beautiful island, Maui, in Hawaii. After 3 connecting flights, we finally made it to a magical island of sunshine, warmth, friendly locals and yummy food.
This will be our first overseas trip in four years, so, I am super excited! We have been delaying any holiday travels for a long time, partly because our “dog-son” has been slowly declining in health. Having a pet is definitely a life-time commitment. Sadly, our beautiful Silky X Maltese crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on our wedding anniversary last year. To our comfort, he passed away peacefully, in his sleep at home on his favorite rug. He was 15 human-years old. As with all of you who have lost a pet, I am sure you will agree with me that life will never be the same again! For those pet owners out there, please give your pet(s) big hugs, kisses and cuddles.
Thank you to those who have offered condolences, puppies, kittens and gold fish. Right now, I think the two important priorities will be Total Bliss and may be, another human addition to the family. For those who know me well enough, you know the later is probably too personal and complicated to get into right now. I am sure it will be another experience to share in the future.
For now, I am relaxing by the beach in Hawaii and reading up on the latest trend in the industry. All in the name of research!
Aloha from Maui and Mahalo for reading!
It is going to be another hot day today. Don’t forget to protect your skin and your beautiful hair from the harmful UV rays. SPF 30+ with mineral pro and Satin Shield Thermal UV hair protection spray will be my besties this summer.
Please make sure the young, the old and your four-legged (or two-winged) animal friends have plenty of water and are keeping cool. They are the more vulnerable ones as their core body temperature system are not as well adapted to the extreme changes in temperature.
We begin the New Year with a bang and promised to follow the latest beauty trends in 2013. First up, some of our clients will be happy to know that we have introduced a once a month Wednesday afternoon-evening from 4pm to 7 pm. Please refer to schedule for more information.
Wishing you all a very Happy and Healthy New Year and may all of us follow through our new year resolution(s) till the 31st December 2013!

After more than a decade of operating Total Bliss Beauty Therapy in Greensborough, it is with mixed emotions that I announce I have decided to retire.
